Chakra Media was founded in 2000 as an outlet for my creativity and freelance web design work. The name Chakra Media was inspired by the artwork of Alex Grey and his series of paintings called Sacred Mirrors. Chakras are believed by many ancient cultures to be 'energy centers' within the body that are aligned in an ascending column from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each chakra is associated with a certain color, multiple specific functions, a classical element and other distinguishing characteristics. Chakras are said to regulate the flow of subtle energy and keep the body and mind in a healthy state.
